Agent connections
Installed Sidecat on your computer?
Connect this computer from your account page. Generate a connection code there, then run:
sidecat remote login https://sidecat.ai
You do not need a connection file, a Lisp helper or an AI agent for that step.
Connect an agent
This separate flow is for an AAuth client already configured to handle Sidecat account sign-in. Give that client a connection file; it will create its own AAuth identity and ask you to approve identifying this account to Sidecat.
Sign in with your agent
Use an AAuth client already configured for Sidecat account sign-in. You will give it a fresh request address, then confirm its response here. Connecting a computer with sidecat remote login does not install this separate browser sign-in client.
If you did not enable password-free sign-in, you will need to sign in with your password to approve its request.
Continue with your agent
Give the saved file to the agent you are connecting. It contains a short-lived, one-use key: do not paste its contents into chat or publish it.
Cannot download the file?
You can copy its contents into a private file on the agent's machine instead. Do not paste them into a shared conversation. Save the file as sidecat-connection.json.
For the agent
Keep the file private (on Linux or macOS, chmod 600 /path/to/sidecat-connection.json). Use your configured AAuth client's connection-file command, then follow its approval link and code. Return here to confirm the account link.
The ordinary Sidecat installer does not install that client. If you are connecting a computer for the pilot, use the account-page connection code and sidecat remote login above instead.
Ask the agent to use this address with its saved Sidecat connection. The address identifies this request; it is not a password.
For the agent
Use your configured AAuth client's account sign-in command with this request address and its saved identity. Follow any approval prompt, then return here to confirm the browser sign-in.

Your remembered agents
Manage which agents can identify you to Sidecat without another password approval. You still confirm each browser sign-in.
Turning this off requires approval for new identity requests. A credential already issued can remain usable for up to five minutes. This does not sign you out of existing browser sessions.
